Ghost Cat

Halloween is in a few days, and I want everyone to have a happy & safe halloween! Aye matey! This reminds me of the story of the Ghost Cat of Fairport Harbor Lighthouse, the oldest on Lake Erie. I know this first hand although I didn't see any puff of gray smoke as the kitty appeared to the curator in 1989 but I did see the ghost cat!
Seems the last family of light keepers the Babcocks, had a 5 yr. old son which died suddenly, then Mrs. Babcock took ill. A certain kitten would stay by her side, enjoying a ball chase down the stairs and bringing it back to her. The room the curator saw the puff of smoke was the bedroom of Mrs. Babcock.
Many years later,..workers doing reconstruction during the winter of 2000-2001 came across the remains of an unfortunate feline, trapped in the cold wall. I have personally seen the remains, which are now kept under a glass case in the museum. The Fairport Harbor Lighthouse museum offers you a ribbon if you make it to the top,...ok thats easy enough, hey it was nice up there and besides,....I wanted the ribbon!

P.S. watch the rocks, mate!
